Ministry of Agriculture director of agricultural extension services Jerome Nkhoma has urged farmers in Dedza District to follow modern farming technologies to boost their yield in the wake of climate change.

He made the call on Tuesday at Chule Primary School during a field day demonstration organised by Lilongwe Agriculture Development Division.

Nkhoma said field days give farmers an opportunity to understand technologies and practices that government is promoting while extension officers benefit by learning how various research products are performing.

Ziyaya commended extension workers for the role they are playing in promoting good farming practices in the country.

One of the farmers, PhestonStephano, said he learned that people who planted one maize seed per hole were expected to get a bumper yield.
